Yup. That’s right.
This is the most wonderful time of the year. It’s neither excessively hot or cold, although it was a bit of a shock to me a couple of weeks ago that we’d have to start wearing pants and socks instead of shorts/capris and flip-flops. I love the way Nature begins its transition to winter and pumpkin spice muffins and the changing colours of the leaves.
I love that I can put polar fleece sheets on the bed and keep the window open a crack at night and feel snug and comforted. That I can drive in just about any direction and somehow everything around the city looks more beautiful, and luminous. Thanksgiving is just two weeks away and after that, starting in mid-November and going into December, we’re into birthday season for my dad (70), DS1 (19), the twins (14), my sister (42), and the mister (51).
Somewhere in all of that, I am hosting a baby shower for MomG, and then there’s Christmas lunch/dinner for which, with a pinch of luck and additional manual labour, all of the excess furniture and twenty-one TARDIS pieces will be cleared away for tables and a serving area.
All in all, a busy time, but the celebrations are what make it so worthwhile.
