RECIPE: Montreal Steak Spice Meatballs

I decided to try making these for supper this evening as an alternative to meatloaf or patties. They do have a kick to them on account of the amount of Steak Spice. My kids thought I should try using 1/4 or even 1/8 cup. (I think they need to develop taste buds!)



  • 6 people


  • 2 pounds of lean ground beef
  • 1 large egg, cracked
  • 1/2 cup of bread crumbs
  • 1/3 cup of Montreal Steak Spice


Pre-heat your oven to 400ºF.

Combine uncooked beef, the egg, the bread crumbs, and the steak spice using your hands.

Use an ice cream scoop or your hands to form the mixture into meatballs.

Using a non-stick cookie sheet (9″ x 13″), place the meatballs approximately 1″-1.5″ apart.

Bake in oven for 20-25 minutes. Use a knife and fork to check for doneness.

This mixture yields 22-24 meatballs. Serve with your choice of side (rice, pasta, potatoes) and/or a garden salad. I deliberately didn’t cook them with a BBQ-sauce glaze so that picky eaters the kids could choose their own dressing.
